QA Film Club!
November 1 @ 5:00 pm
Join us for informal ‘hygge’ in the QA Lounge. We meet up for movies, snacks, and general merriment once a month, typically the first Wednesday of each month.
This time we’re going for the classics!
We’ll be watching *Drumroll* da da daaaaaaaam – Stanley Kubricks “Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” from 1964.
This political satire black comedy film satirizes the Cold War fears of a nuclear conflict between the Soviet Union and the United States, and is considered to be one of cinema’s best comedies – like, ever!!!!!!
The film concerns an unhinged United States Air Force general who orders a first strike nuclear attack on the Soviet Union.
Fun fact: the film features one of the most well-known scenes in cinema history, that actually was improvised by Peter Sellers, whilst filming – Kubrick decided to just let Sellers do his thang. Watch how the other actors have troubles keeping a straight face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaTR46iU1Do
We’ll see you there!
