Trip to Kronborg
March 17 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
When: March 17th 2018 at 10:00
Where: Meet outside McDonald’s at Nørreport Station
Join us for a cultural trip to beautiful Northern Zealand approx. 40 minutes outside Copenhagen. Here we will visit the important historical stronghold, Kronborg Castle.
Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most important Danish strongholds. It played a significant part in the Danish economy under King Christian the 4th (that guy who built half of Copenhagen), it has been immortalized as the setting for Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’, and it is home to the famous legendary character, Holger the Dane, who according to myth wakes from his slumber to defend Denmark in times of trouble (he will not let it be).
We will be going on a guided tour around the castle called Nooks and Crannies. This tour will give you access to some of the places that are off limits to other visitors. Please do note, the tour contains small rooms, darkness and lots of stairs.
The participation fee is to be paid to our treasurer, Pernille, on Tuesday March 6th or Wednesday March 7th, both days between 13-15.
Cost: There is a fee of 45 DKK for the guided tour. Our treasurer, Pernille, will accept payments in the QA Lounge, 23.2.06, on Tuesday March 6th and Wednesday March 7th. Both days between 13:00 and 15:00.
